I would like to mention that Charon Kransen, juror for Refined: Abundance will be visiting Stephen F. Austin's School of Art, March 17-18 to present a two day seminar. Both days will begin approximately at 10am and last until 4pm, with breaks and a lunch break both days. The seminar will be taking place in the conference room of the Art Center @ The Old Opera House. If you are interested in attending, please contact Gary Schott (gary4metals@msn.com & 920.562.5069) to be given further details. A few other professors and myself are willing to host visitors from out of town, if lodging is a concern.
The following is taken from Charon's website, giving a brief description of his seminar:
"This seminar is an unique opportunity to see and hear about a lot of aspects of the relationship between gallery and artist, as well as a chance to understand your own motives and desires with your work.
The seminar is designed around questions dealing with issues such as: identity, recognition, success, clients, collectors,”the market”,ethics, presentation and galleries.
In discussing these issues the participant will develop skills which will enable him/her to be more professional in general."
