SSA's newest artist-in-residence



Laura Wood is all moved into her new work are and will be the Artist-In-Residence for the Metals and Papermaking areas at the Southwest School of Art for the year. More of her work can be found at her website by clicking here.

Laura Wood received her BFA in jewelry and metalsmithing in 2007 at the University of Georgia and her MFA in metal design from East Carolina University in 2011. Papermaking has been a strong influence in the direction of her work and she has studied techniques in textiles and fiber to support interests in alternative media in metal design. She has exhibited work both nationally and internationally and has most recently coordinated and curated the international exhibition Pulp Culture in 2010. Laura, along with fellow graduate students founded the Annual Symposium Material Topics hosted by the metals program at East Carolina University in 2010.
