Howdy for Austin! I've got a few announcements for exhibitions I will be participating in the month October.

First, October 18th is the opening reception for Content in Contemporary Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing, hosted by the Texas Tech School of Art, in Lubbock, TX. Rob Glover is the head of the Metal/Jewelry Program there and responsible for organizing all of the exhibition's participants. There will be a symposium starting at 10am and ending at 3:30pm. Lecturing artists include, Keith Lewis, Marjorie Schick, Patricia Nelson, and Lisa Gralnick. There are a lot of other great individuals participating in this exhibition, including two friends of mine, Natalya Pinchuk and Arthur Hash.

The second exhibition is a another group exhibition, wood/metal/glass, being hosted at the Rockport Center for the Arts, Rockport, TX. Fellow metalsmith/jeweler Jan Harrell is also participating. She lives in Houston and teaches at the Glassell School of Art, teaching enameling. The exhibition was put together by the art director, John Aasp. In addition to his experience as the art director, John is also an exhibiting artist, working mostly with video. He has a solo exhibition at the Buffalo Arts Studio, Buffalo, NY, Jan 17 - Mar 6, 2009.

And lastly, not an exhibition announcement, but I thought Sarah and I should share about our newest little friend. It has been hanging out on and above our door for the past week now. When the porch light is on at night....mmmmmmmmmm...dinner time!
